Most of Tarif’s art focuses on humanitarian issues and Levantine heritage. His work is a blend of traditional Middle Eastern Artifacts brushed in modern themes. The result is a series of abstract paintins containing a self expression uniquely matured by his vast exposure to the life and art in the Middle East and Europe.
Tarif’s art touches on a wide range of topics and themes. Human migration, Levantine heritage, local mystery of human beings. Tarif’s architectural background and his passion for architecture is always present in his art.
Biography:
Tarif is better known as an architect, planner, interior and art designer. However, currently he is devoting most of his time on painting.
Tarif Sioufi was born in Damascus in 1946. He has been one of the country’s pioneer architects and designers in the last three decades in Syria. His work in architecture is present in Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Syria; His interior design work can be found in Syria, Saudi Arabia , and Düsseldorf.
Graduated and influenced by his exposure in three universities: Beirut Arab university B.A architecture, école national des beaux arts (Paris) P.H.D – and master city planning at université Paris -8-
